Mildred “Millie” Dooley-Green, age 80, of Knoxville, Illinois, died on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at the Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

She was born on July 26, 1939 in Hanna City, Illinois, the daughter of Willard “Bill” and Elna (Olson) McDonald.  She was reared and educated in the Fulton County area, attending and graduating from Farmington High School with the class of 1957.  In 1961, Millie was married to George Dooley in Farmington, Illinois; he preceded her in death.  She later married Tom F. Green in June of 1994 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Tom preceded her in death on December 11, 2006.

Millie is survived by her three loving children: Randy (and Chris) Dooley of Beckmeyer, Illinois, Rhonda (and Frank) Paxton of Kewanee, Illinois, Kathy Dooley of Vandalia, Illinois; five grandchildren: Megan (and Liz) Claussen of Edwardsville, Illinois, Joe Lambert of Macomb, Illinois, Nick Lambert of Knoxville, Tiffany (and Phil) Pullen of Peoria, Ryan Lambert of Farmington; five great-grandchildren: Alex Claussen, Lane Claussen, Grant Lambert, Brenly Pullen, Cayson Pullen; and one sister, Mary Lou (and Lee) Anderson of Farmington.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands.

Millie worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the former Lee Implements in Oneida, Illinois.  She would go on to work as for the United States Postal Service as a postal worker in Galesburg, Illinois, until her retirement.  There were many past times that she enjoyed, but she especially loved tending to her flower gardens.  Millie also took great pride in taking care of her home, husband, children, and grandchildren.  Collecting antiques of all kinds was also a favorite hobby of Millie’s.  She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Cremation rites will be accorded.  Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Oneida Cemetery in Oneida, Illinois.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation or Gift of Hope.  Online condolences and expressions of sympathy may be made through www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com.
