Under the amended stay at home order in Illinois, golf courses we able to reopen with certain guidelines. Jeff Thompson, Monmouth Country Club board president, states golfers have been out and are following the protocols in place:
“The restrictions that the state of Illinois handed down are very tight. I mean it is walkers and twosomes, but I also think most area courses are allowing golfers to use some carts or their own carts and follow special protocols. Cups have been filled with foam inserts, you don’t remove flags, there is no ball washers, and there is no rakes in the sand traps. It is a directive from the state and I think people, not just at Monmouth Country Club, Gibson Woods, and some of the other courses, I think they are following protocol to keep themselves and others safe,” Thompson says.
The pro shop and club house at the Country Club are temporarily closed throughout the stay at home order.
