NRCS EQUIP Funds Available for Livestock Farmers

With all the meat processing plants shutting down and some coming back part time, the NRCS EQUIP program is offering an Emergency Animal Mortality Program, says District Conservationist Cathy Froelich:

“With the next cutoff being on the 22nd, we are going to try and get funding, obligated funds, out as soon as possible for those land owners that have to depopulate due to the COVID-19 epidemic that is going on right now. If there are livestock producers out there that are having to depopulate for the unfortunate times, they need to contact their local NRCS office,” Froelich reports.

Froelich also reminds farmers that the Conservation Stewardship Program deadline is May 31st.
