Rhonda Ruth Jones, 62, of Wataga, died at 7:12 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2020 at her daughter’s home.

Rhonda was born July 24, 1957 in Galesburg, the daughter of Dusty and Naomi Ruth(Richardson) Rhoades.  She married H. Paul Jones on October 5, 1976 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death on January 27, 2015.  Rhonda is survived by one son, Travis Jones of Wataga; four daughters, Kim (Craig) Shumaker of Galesburg, Suzy (Deonn) Coleman of Wataga, Lilly (Cody) Griswold of Canton, OH, and Kelsy (William) Thomas of Wataga; and nine grandchildren.  She is also survived by one brother, Bobby (Laurie) Rhoades of Austin, TX; one sister, Tammy (Ronnie) Rollings of Victoria; a close friend, Nita Kirk of Galesburg; and her beloved dog, Baby.

Rhonda worked in dietary at several health care institutions in Galesburg, last working at Marigold Health Care and Rehab.  Rhonda enjoyed being at her home and having people over to visit.  She loved being a grandma, was always willing to help others when asked.  Rhonda enjoyed going to yard sales and daily trips to Galesburg for ice cream.

Cremation rites will be accorded.  Private family graveside services will be held at Oneida Cemetery, Oneida, IL.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
