Roger M. Bailey, 76, of Galesburg, IL formerly of Alexis, IL passed away at 6:30 am, Thursday, May 7, 2020 at the Aperion Care Center, Galesburg, IL.

Roger was born September 17, 1943 in Monmouth, IL the son of Howard and Mary (Laughead) Bailey.  He was raised and educated in Alexis, IL attending Alexis High School.

Roger served with the United States Air Force from 1962-1968 stationed in Japan and later at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina.

Roger was a laborer working as a truck driver in Milwaukee, WI for a time and most recently at National Seal in Galesburg for 15 years before retiring.

He enjoyed golfing and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary Bailey of Milwaukee, WI; brother, Glenn (Kay) Bailey of Monmouth, IL and sister in law, Beverly Bailey of Santa Barbara, CA; several nieces and nephews; close friend, Connie Heusinkveld of Galesburg, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Milo Bailey, Allen Bailey, Larry Bailey and Chauncey Bailey; 1 sister, Nancy Bailey.

Due to Covid-19 social distancing restrictions and recommendations at private family graveside service will be held at Alexis Cemetery, Alexis.  Memorials may be given to the Alexis Cemetery Association. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
