Guidelines for Surgeries at OSF HealthCare Holy Family Medical Center

Share

As part of phase 2 of Governor Pritzker’s Restore Illinois plan, non-emergent surgeries are able to be scheduled and performed. Surgeries at OSF HealthCare Holy Family Medical Center will start back up on Wednesday, May 27th. Diabetes Education Coordinator Tina Canada reports a new screening is in place before an operation:

“It is going to be a little bit different for patients who are having general or potentially have a general anesthesia surgery, where you would be put to sleep. You will have to have the COVID-19 screening at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled date. It does put a little bit of an inconvenience on people, but it is an important step to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible,” Canada says.

Extra cleaning steps are being taken during these times and visitor restrictions remain in place at Holy Family. Masks are also to be worn by all patients entering the hospital.
