Theresa L. Vail, age 98, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth, on Thursday May 21, 2020. Theresa was born in Rural Swan Township of Warren County on December 12, 1921 and is the daughter of James and Rhoda Pearl Talley Everett. She attended rural school and graduated from Roseville High School in 1939. Theresa then complete her coarse in Cosmetology at Morse College. Theresa married Merle S. Vail on August 18, 1945 in Macomb, Illinois. He passed away in 1989. Theresa was self employed and was a hairstylist in the Swan Creek area. She is a member of First United Methodist Church and it’s Deborah Circle. She was a member of the Monmouth Womens Club and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling the world and being at her Condominium in Naples Florida.
Surviving is her nephew, Gary Hayes (Donna) of Roseville, Illinois, three grandchildren, Candy Conard (Tab) of Monmouth, IL., Shawn Scott (Jennifer) of Avon, IL, and Thad Moore (Sue) of Monmouth, IL. Seven Great Grandchildren survive, Brittany Valde (Andy) of Schaumburg, IL, Cecily Storm (Zack), and Landon Conard, both of Monmouth, Sydney Scott and Brennan Scott, both of Avon, and Ty Moore (Tommy) of Monmouth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Lana, her infant son, one sister, and one brother.
A graveside service for the interment of her ashes is planned by her family at 10:30 am on Wednesday May 27, 2020 at Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. Recommendations by the CDC and social distancing currently shall be observed. A memorial fund for First United Methodist Church is being established.
