The McDonough County Health Department announces the deaths of two additional McDonough County residents who tested positive for coronavirus disease, bringing the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the county to 16. A death certificate that lists COVID-19 disease or SARS-CoV-2 as a cause of death, or a significant condition contributing to death, is counted as a COVID-19 death in accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health’s Vital Records Criteria. The new deaths include 1 female in her 70s and 1 male in his 80s.
MCHD also announces one additional McDonough County resident, a male in his 50s, has tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of positive cases to 93. The McDonough County recovered case count stands at 60 of 93 positive COVID-19 cases.
