57 Carl Sandburg College Athletes Named Academic All-Arrowhead Conference

Share

For the second straight year, a school-record number of Carl Sandburg College student-athletes have earned Academic All-Arrowhead Conference honors for their exceptional performances in the classroom.

Sandburg had 57 honorees for the 2019-20 academic year, surpassing the school record of 51 set a year ago. Student-athletes must have earned at least a 3.0 grade point average and passed a minimum of 12 credit hours in each semester to be considered for Academic All-Arrowhead status.

All 11 Chargers teams had at least two players earn the distinction. Baseball had the most representatives of any Sandburg squad, with 15 members of its 27-man roster achieving the honor. Softball had nine Academic All-Arrowhead recipients to lead Sandburg’s women’s teams.

Five Chargers who participated in multiple sports were named to the team, and 19 Chargers sophomores earned academic all-conference honors each of the past two years.
