Buzz (Max Thomas) Galbraith, 70, passed away June 19, 2020 at his home in Roseville. He was born to Max B and Yulon Galbraith on June 25, 1949. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Eva.

Buzz grew up in Raritan, went to school in Media and his senior year in Roseville, Illinois. Buzz did his undergraduate studies at Western Illinois University and received a bachelor’s degree in Art from Monmouth College. After graduation he joined his father in the family trucking business and for a short period of time ran MTG Aggregate Materials before purchasing the trucking business from his father. Health issues forced Buzz to retire in 2015.

His favorite memories were playing with friends and classmates in the creek in Raritan. He played the guitar and saxophone in a couple of local rock and roll bands. He was a sports photographer for local newspapers, did wedding photos, modeling shoots and enjoyed photographing nature. He helped his father restore several antique trucks and enjoyed working on his Jaguar cars.  And choppers, he chopped a few motorcycles in his day. Most locals know Buzz for his trucking skills, hauling road rock for over 40 years. He was a talented woodworker with one of his favorite design and building projects being the barn located at the greenhouse in rural Roseville. He loved animals, making Christmas cookies for elderly shut-ins, and gardening.

Cremation rites have been accorded, due to covid-19 social distancing no services are planned at this time. Please make memorials to Western Illinois University Public Television WQPT.  Buzz was an avid viewer of Public Television and long time supporter. Please sign the on-line guestbook at www.wisefamilyfuneral.com .  Wise Family Funeral Home in Roseville is in charge of arrangements.
