Court Back in Session, Access in Warren County Courthouse Remains Limited

The Supreme Court ordered the courts back open again on June 1st, but access is still limited to the Warren County Courthouse, says Sheriff Martin Edwards:

“If you have a court case scheduled, come in by yourself. Please don’t bring an entourage. We only want people in there that are specifically involved with the case. Anybody coming into the courthouse must wear a mask. If you don’t have one, you will be turned away. A far as the other offices like the Treasurer, the Clerk, still do what you can by phone or by mail. There is still the box out front for dropping fines, the dog tags, and all that kind of thing. I realize there are other matters right now that are taking precedence in our media, but that has not obfuscated the fact that there are still cautions being conducted right now, so we obviously want to observe those to the best of our ability,” Sheriff Edwards reports.

As more are getting out on the roadways, Sheriff Martin Edwards reminds motorists to help keep the highways safe and slow down, especially in construction zones:

“Right now there is construction going on. You can see that they have been working on 34 right here on the North side of town. There are other road closures going on throughout the county. The Alexis 8 Mile blacktop is getting ready to be worked on. There are other road closures to the South. You have to slow down and give them a break. That’s an absolute. You speed through a construction zone and spark like that, you will get a court appearance and it will be expensive. Take that extra two minutes, slow down, and observe the speed limit,” Sheriff Edwards states.
