Mr. George Lee Snelling Jr., 59, of Galesburg, passed away at 3:19 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

He was born August 23, 1960, in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of George and Ann (Ellis) Snelling, Sr. He married Angie Dickerson on September 15, 2018 in Galesburg.

He is survived by his wife, Angie; mother, Ann Snelling of Gary, Indiana; daughter, Ebonee Dickerson (Justin Morris) of Galesburg; brothers, Larry Snelling and Broderick (Sherry Ann) Snelling, both of Chicago, Kenneth (Melanie) Snelling of Indiana, Russell Ellison of Indianapolis, and Phillip Snelling and Ronnie Snelling, both of Chicago; sisters, Jasmine, Tamelca, Patricia, and Latasha Snelling; granddaughter, Nataley Morris; God son, Kahil Coleman; and God daughter, Bella Coleman. Also surviving are Earl, Travis, Big Mike, and Rob. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Turevo Snelling.

George was employed at Mid-State Manufacturing in Galesburg. He loved music, playing pool, card playing and dancing.

Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Friday July 3, 2020 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Home and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Funeral Service will follow at 2 p.m. with Reverend Robert Brown officiating. Due to social distancing limitations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, seating will be limited and face masks will be required. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Following the service friends and family are welcome to continue fellowship at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Galesburg.
