GPD Make Arrests Related to Activated Alarm at Simpson Limited

On Thursday, June 11, 2020, at approximately 3:33 a.m. Galesburg Police Department responded to Simpson Limited located at 140 S Seminary St. Galesburg, Illinois in reference to a burglar alarm being activated.

Officers arrived on the scene shortly after and located damage to one of the entry doors into the business. Officers entered the building and located several damaged cases that contained firearms. Officers cleared the inside of the business and didn’t locate any subjects.

Galesburg police detectives were called to the scene to assist in the investigation. Detectives were able to obtain a surveillance video of subjects entering the building and leaving the business with firearms to a vehicle that was parked in the area. Police detectives worked with The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and Peoria Police Department Detectives. Two juveniles were arrested on June 18, 2020. One juvenile has been charged with burglary and the other with burglary and theft.
