The Illinois High School Association Board of Directors has approved Return to Play Guidelines developed within Illinois Governor Pritzker’s Restore Illinois Plan, which provides the first step in IHSA student-athletes returning to participation. Monmouth-Roseville athletic director Jeremy Adolphson sums up what is now allowed for coaches and student-athletes to partake in summer activities.

Mon-Rose AD Jeremy Adolphson on how his school is handling the new guidelines

Under the Return to Play Guidelines, student-athlete adjustment and general physical fitness are all that is currently allowed. No skills of sport-specific training elements are to be administered. The IHSA’s Return to Play Guidelines will remain in place until the IHSA or the Illinois Department of Health releases further guidelines.
