New COVID-19 cases in McDonough & Knox County

The McDonough County Health Department announces seven additional McDonough County residents have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of positive cases to 100. The new cases include 1 female in her 20s, 1 male in his 20s, 1 female in her 50s, 1 male in his 60s, 1 female in her 80s, 1 male in his 80s and 1 female in her 90s. The McDonough County recovered case count stands at 69 of 100 positive COVID-19 cases.
The Knox County Health Department is announcing one additional case of Coronavirus Disease, bringing the total positive cases to 107. The individual is a male in his 30s. Both Public health officials are working to identify and actively monitor individuals who were in contact with the residents in an effort to reduce the risk of additional transmission.
Residents are encouraged to self-monitor daily for any of the following symptoms: fever, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, loss of taste/smell, extreme fatigue, abdominal discomfort, headaches, and muscle aches.
