Robin Ann Detmers, of Galesburg, Illinois. died at 1:50 A.M. on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at her home in Galesburg, Illinois.

Robin was born on December 20, 1959 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Kenneth and Ruth (Davies) Lumberry. She attended and graduated from Knoxville High School the class of 1978. She then attended Carl Sandburg College where she received her LPN. She married Neal Detmers on May 10, 1980 at Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Illinois.

Surviving is her husband, Neal Detmers of Galesburg, Illinois, her son, Spencer Detmers of Galesburg, Illinois and her daughter, Lauren Detmers of Galesburg, Illinois. Also surviving is her mother, Ruth Lumberry of Knoxville, Illinois; two brothers, Kelvin (and Gerry) Lumberry of Galesburg, Illinois, Robert Lumberry of Delong, Illinois; one sister, Kay (and Preston) Jacobson of Milton, Washington; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father.

Nursing was her great passion. She worked as an LPN at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois for 17+ years. Between 2007-2009, she worked on getting her RN degree through Carl Sandburg College. Unfortunately, she contracted the H1N1 virus in December of 2009 and was never able to pick back up where she left off. She was a member of the Western Illinois Antique Auto Club. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, traveling with family, family genealogy and Ancient History.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Interment will be in the Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Family, for a memorial to be established at a later date. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, face masks and social distancing will be required. On-line condolences or expressions of sympathy may be made through www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhomes.com
