Sara Jane Briggs, 79, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 6:05 am, Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at her home.

She was born June 23, 1941 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of William and Ruth (Graham) Hutchins.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth, IL, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1960. 

Sara married James R. Briggs in Palmyra, MO on March 26, 1960 and he survives.

Sara was a homemaker.  She loved spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed flowers, movies, shopping and all kinds of animals.

Survivors include her husband, James R. Briggs, Sr. and her son, James R. Briggs, Jr. both of Monmouth and her dear friend, Annette Clarke of Bettendorf, IA

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has been accorded.  No services are planned at this time.  Interment at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth will take place at a later date.  Memorials may be given to Western Illinois Animal Rescue and sent to the funeral home.
