The United Red Storm Football Program got back in the gym this week following the IHSA’s Return to Play Guidelines. Despite being able to engage in sport specific drills, Head Coach David Milroy was grateful to get the guys back out there:

“The way our weight room is set up, we can really have eighteen kids on paper going at once because we do have two weight rooms. One coach and nine kids per weight room. We are offering more sessions right now to keep the groups smaller. I think it is a good thing. You have one coach to about five to seven kids, which is perfect to be hands on and really giving the individual attention that we would like too. It is a little more time on paper, but it is very smooth. We decided to bring them in flights. Do a couple things in the weight room and then send them outside and do some running, agility, and speed work,” Milroy says.

The Coaches keep a daily athlete monitoring log of the athletes’ symptoms and to maintain social distancing, x’s have been placed on the floor and a certain pattern is followed.
