Zach Shay Hired as Bettendorf HS Administrator

On the heels of the recent announcement of 1991 Galesburg High School graduate, Jason Shay being named the new men’s basketball coach at East Tennessee State University, Jason’s brother Zach was hired as the activities and athletic director at Bettendorf High School in the Quad Cities area on Monday night. Zach is a 1994 graduate at Galesburg High School. Zach previously served as activities and athletics director at Burlington High School since 2015. While at Burlington High School, Shay oversaw football stadium reconstruction and gym, concessions and locker room improvements. A former football player at the University of Iowa, Zach was the Galesburg head football coach in 2002, leading them to a record of (5-5) and a berth in the IHSA playoffs for the first time in 11 years. Following that season, he moved on to coaching positions at several colleges and high schools.
