The Knox County Health Department (KCHD) is announcing nineteen additional cases of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), between June 30, 2020 and July 6, 2020, bringing the total positive cases to 149. Due to federal privacy restriction, release of any additional information is prohibited. Public health officials are working to identify and actively monitor individuals who were in direct contact with these residents in an effort to
reduce the risk of additional transmission.
The new cases include:
● Female in her 10s
● 4 females in their 20s
● 2 males in their 20s
● Female in her 30s
● 3 males in their 30s
● Female in her 40s
● 2 males in their 40s86
● Female in her 50s
● 2 males in their 50s
● Female in her 60s
● Female in her 70s
The number of individuals currently considered recovered stands at 112 of the 149 positive COVID-19 cases, with one individual currently hospitalized. Recovered is defined by the CDC as resolution of fever without fever-reducing medications for three days (72 hours), improvement of respiratory symptoms, and at least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared. Residents are encouraged to self-monitor daily for any of the following symptoms: fever, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, loss of taste/smell, extreme fatigue, abdominal
discomfort, headaches, and muscle aches. This list is not all inclusive. Please contact your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning. Curbside testing for COVID-19 is open to anyone, regardless of
symptoms or other criteria, please call the Knox Community Health Center at 309-344-2225 to schedule an appointment. Call early as the Health Center may have same day appointments open.
The Knox County Health Department urges all residents to continue wearing cloth face-coverings and practice social distancing when in public, for the health and safety of our community.
