The coronavirus has put a halt to several community events and the Relay for Life walks were no different. Local Senior Community Manager with the American Cancer Society Stacey Dutton says they are able to hold a drive-thru luminaries event on Saturday, August 29th:

“Here in Warren and Henderson County; we are going to do a luminaria drive-thru. That is a huge part of our event and each bag represents one of those patients and survivors that we can honor and then our loved ones who we have lost and passed on, we can honor them as well. If it a ten dollar donation per bag to represent your loved one. We are going to use the Monmouth-Roseville High School parking lot, right next to the school. We will have people drive in one entrance; they can drive around the luminaria. They will be lit because it will start at 9 p.m. on August 29th and then they will exit the parking lot,” Dutton shares.

To donate for a luminaria bag, visit their website http://relayforlife.org/whil. Forms and bags may also be picked up at Midwest Bank in Monmouth and Oquawka or at Wells Fargo. Bags and forms then need to be returned to Wells Fargo to be processed for the drive-thru luminaries on August 29th.
