Barbara L. Merry, 69, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 12:00 p.m., Sunday, July 12, 2020 at OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center, Galesburg, IL. 

She was born on November 4, 1950 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Lee and Rita (Sage) Palmer.  Barb was raised and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1968. 

She married Dan Merry on July 15, 1969 in Monmouth, IL; he survives. 

Barb worked as a nurse’s aid for many years in various care facilities around the country.  Her main priority and joy was taking care of and raising her family.  She loved to cook for her family and friends.  Barb enjoyed camping, ATV trips, and being outdoors.  She loved all of her dogs and cared for all animals.  Barb was a former member of the V.F.W Auxiliary in Monmouth. 

Surviving Barb is her husband, Dan Merry of Monmouth, IL; two children, Troy Merry of Peoria, IL, Melissa (Mark) Miller of Richland Center, WI; five grandchildren, Drew Merry, Skyler Merry, Aiden Miller, Adelin Miller, Avery Miller; one sister, Linda (Ronnie) Darnell of Kirkwod, IL. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Roy Palmer.

Graveside Services will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth, IL.  No visitation hours are planned.  A Celebration of Life will follow the graveside service. Memorials can be made to the Western Illinois Animal Rescue, Monmouth, IL.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information please visit, www.mcgurieanddaviesfuneralhome.com
