Betty J. Campbell, age 86, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 10:30
AM on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth, Illinois. She was born April 6, 1934 in Harland, Kentucky, the daughter of Lee Holmen and Beulah Agnes (Vowell) Pyles. Betty was reared and educated in Harlan County, Kentucky and attended schools there.  On
August 24, 1983, she married Clem Campbell in Monmouth, Illinois and he
preceded her in death on March 16, 2011. Betty served many communities,
bartending and many establishments for decades. She loved taking care of
all her children, grandchildren, and she enjoyed cooking for everyone.

Betty is survived by three daughters; Janice Medrano of Hebron, Indiana,
Jacqueline (Dusty) Hoopes of Monmouth, Illinois, and Angela Hoopes, also
of Monmouth, four sons; Jack Sage, Tom (Sandy) Sage, John Sage, all of
Monmouth, Illinois, and Patrick Bigger of Biggsville, Illinois. Also
surviving are 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is
preceded in death by her parents and two sons; Nolan “Ike” White and
Wendell Lee Sage.

As were Betty’s wishes, cremation is being accorded. A Celebration of
Life for Betty Campbell will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 8,
2020 at 1386 200th Avenue, Monmouth, Illinois. Interment will be held at
a later date. A memorial fund is being established for Alzheimer’s
