Cubs, Sox and Cardinals Ready to Open up 2020 Regular Season

The Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox are hosting their season openers tonight. The North Siders face the Milwaukee Brewers, while the South Siders welcome the Minnesota Twins. David Ross is set to make his managerial debut for the Cubs. That game will feature a moment of silence and solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, virtual first pitches by Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Governor J.B. Pritzker and an actual first pitch by Cubs Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg. Kyle Hendricks takes the mound for the Cubbies against Milwaukee’s Brandon Woodruff. You can hear it on your Western Illinois home for Chicago Cub baseball, AM 1330/FM 94.1 WRAM with the pregame show starting at 5:35. First pitch is set for 6:10.

The White Sox are set for their season opener tonight against the Twins at Guaranteed Rate Field. Lucas Giolito takes on Minnesota’s José Berríos. The Sox will be debuting some newcomers, including catcher Yasmani Grandal, designated hitter Edwin Encarnación, and starter Dallas Keuchel. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10.

The St. Louis Cardinals are set for their season opener tonight against the Pirates at Busch Stadium. Jack Flaherty gets the start against Pittsburgh’s Joe Musgrove. Catcher Yadier Molina will be starting his 16th consecutive opener for St. Louis. The game is slated to start at 7:15.
