Delbert W. Klein, age 81, of Stronghurst, Illinois, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.  He was born January 10, 1939 in Sweet Springs, Missouri, the son of Richard and Wanetta Patrick Klein.  On February 28, 1959, he married Glennis Ketelsen in Burlington, Iowa.

Mr. Klein was a veteran of the United States Army.  He worked as a truck driver for Mckesson & Robbins Company all of his adult life, retiring in 2006.  In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling in various local bowling leagues.  He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church of Stronghurst.

Survivors include his wife, Glennis, one son, Dolan Wayne (Susanne) Klein of Savoy, IL, one daughter, Mary Klein Cook of Bloomington, IL, one step son, Jay Reed VanderSchel of Putnam, CT, seven grandchildren, Sarah and Jessica Cook, Parker and Samantha Klein, and Melinda, Jason and Julie VanderSchel, and several great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Klein.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday August 1, 2020 in the Stronghurst Cemetery, with Rev. David Vidler officiating.  No visitation is planned.  A memorial fund has been established for the American Heart Association.  Memorials may be sent in care of Banks & Beals Funeral Home, P.O.
