IHSA Facing Lawsuit Over Pandemic Related Restrictions

Share

The same southern Illinois attorney who successfully sued Governor JB Pritzker is now suing the IHSA, the group that runs high school sports in the state. Attorney Thomas DeVore filed a preliminary injunction against the IHSA and the Hillsboro School District yesterday on behalf of his two children that attend Hillsboro High School. Devore says the IHSA doesn’t have the constitutional authority to enforce a mask requirement. Devore also claims the student-athletes would be irreparably harmed by the requirement. The IHSA hasn’t officially responded to the lawsuit. Devore previously sued Governor J.B. Pritzker over his stay-at-home order.
