Kathleen A. Allen, 76, of Galesburg, died at 5 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2020 at home.

Kathy was born December 19, 1943 in Galesburg, the daughter of Kenneth Allen and Margaret Mae (Baddget) Neave.  She married Gordon “Butch” Allen on March 17, 1984 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death on March 12, 2015.  Kathy is survived by two sons, Douglas (Trish) Unger of Hickory Hills and Bryan (Shelly) Unger of St. Paul, MN; a daughter, Anita (Al) Hummer of Nashville; eight grandchildren including a grandson, Tyler (Andrea) Unger whom was adopted by Kathy and Butch; and grandson Brett Unger whom was Kathy’s caregiver; and numerous great grandchildren.  She is also survived by two sisters, Nancy Danner and Karen White both of Galesburg.  Along with her husband and parents Kathy was preceded in death by one son, Daniel; one brother, Allen Neave; and one sister, Joann Neave.

Kathy graduated from GHS in 1962.  She worked at Duff Ace Hardware for many years.  She later did private cleaning for homes and offices.  Kathy was an avid baseball fan especially the St. Louis Cardinals and she loved to read.

Cremation will be accorded.  A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
