Monmouth Airport Hangar Project Currently in Design Phase

Share

At the latest Monmouth City Council meeting, Hutchinson Engineering provided an update on the ten unit airport hangar project. City Administrator Lew Steinbrecher highlights the timeline of completion:

“Looks like we will be in the design phase here for the next six weeks and then we will be ready to go out to bid. I would expect to have a bid opening sometime probably in early to mid-October. After that, of course whoever the successful bidder is that is awarded the contract will need to order the materials for the actual hangar. In the meantime, we will be able to pour the concrete floor. I would expect the hangar to be going up during the late fall and early winter months, but we hope to have it done and ready by springtime,” Steinbrecher reports.

The airport hangar project is being funded through restricted funds derived from the federal aviation trust fund and insurance funds obtained after the fire last year.
