Stop Signs Coming to West Harlem to Assist With City Pool Traffic

Share

The Community Pool across from the Warren County YMCA has opened to the public. The new pool has parking on-site, however, when capacity numbers are increased, overflow will have to park at the Y and cross West Harlem Avenue. To help protect pedestrian traffic in the area, stop signs and a crosswalk will be placed between the two facilities according to Mayor Rod Davies:

“As the limits get lifted, there is an expectation that folks may have to park over in the Y parking lot for overflow. We were concerned about the safety of people crossing Harlem Avenue. We set up a crosswalk and two stop signs to stop the traffic in the middle of Harlem between F and G Streets. That will give them a good safe ten foot wide pedestrian crosswalk with stop signs from either direction,” states Mayor Davies.

The motion made to authorize the installation of the stop signs and a crosswalk was approved by city council.
