According to WGEM.com, Quincy Notre Dame High School Athletic Director, Bill Connell is working with officials at the Adams County Health Department regarding the news over the weekend of two Raider football players testing positive for COVID-19. The QND football program suspended all football operations, including weightlifting on the QND campus immediately following the positive tests. Connell sent an email to the families of players on the team on Sunday morning. Though not required to, he also notified the IHSA on Monday morning.

School officials are working with the Adams County Health Department on the next steps QND needs to take in an effort to keep all involved safe. 16 QND players and two coaches are also working with health department officials after it was determined that they had direct contact with the two players who tested positive and are now isolated at their homes in Quincy, according to Connell, who expects to receive some official word from the Adams County Health Department on Wednesday afternoon in regards to a “next step” plan of action.
