Sottos Wins Second Monmouth Men’s All-City Golf Title, Kehr Defends Women’s Championship

Jake Sottos is the Monmouth All-City Men’s golf champion for the second time in his career. Sottos, who last won the tournament in 2015, has been the runner up the last two years to Tristan Reimolds. After a blistering 67 at the Monmouth Country Club on Saturday, Sottos held a two shot lead going into Sunday’s final round at Gibson Woods Golf Course. A fast start by Baker and a slow start by Sottos put Baker in the lead for most of the day, until Sottos used his experience down the stretch. A nice up-and-down from the green-side bunker at 18, put Sottos and Baker into a tie for the lead at 140 after 36 holes. Sottos’ beautiful approach on the first playoff hole, led to a birdie and the tournament victory. Sottos was asked about his day following the tournament.

Two-time champ Scott Weber and Rawly Lantz tied for 3rd at 147. Two-time defending champ Reimolds and three-time All-City champ Scott McClintock tied for 5th at 149.

Cathy Kehr won her second straight tournament on the women’s side. Her two-day score of 163 was 15 shot better than runner up Elaine Sander. Kehr stretched out her five shot lead after Saturday with an 85 at Gibson on Sunday.

Steve Andrews is the Senior Champ. Andrews’ 149 was five shots better than Rod Smith’s 154.

Dominic Greer shot identical 74’s on Saturday and Sunday for a First Flight win at 148 and Brian Jordan won a playoff against Jim Kauffman for a Second Flight victory. Both golfers went into the playoff with 171’s.

Angela Doyle won the Women’s First Flight with a 196.
