Mr. Albert “Al” E. Lamb, 61, of Galesburg, Illinois died 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at his home. 

He was born August 30, 1958 in Galesburg to Robert M. and Sadie E. (Rigg) Lamb.  He married Colleen Morse.

Surviving are two daughters, Katie Gray of Knoxville, Illinois and Ashley Lamb of Burlington, Iowa, two brothers, Robert G. (and Katherine) Lamb of Galesburg and Jeff (and Vickie) Lamb of Galesburg, a sister, Charlotte (and Larry) Fitzanko of Knoxville and two grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jim Wall and a sister, Caroline Cassell. 

Al attended Galesburg High School.  He worked for Roger Brothers in Galesburg as a driver, mechanic and all around utility guy for several years.  He loved racing.  He drove sprint cars in the super modified division and later dwarf cars.  He raced at Burlington Speedway mostly but also raced at the Knoxville Fair Grounds and many other area county fairgrounds. 

Cremation will be accorded.  A Family and Friend gathering will be 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Al’s home in Galesburg.  A celebration of life will be at a later date.  Hinchliff-Pearson West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial fund in Al’s name.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
