Galesburg City Hall will re-open to the public on Monday, August 24, 2020. The facility was closed to the public for one week for cleaning and sanitation in response to several City employees testing positive for COVID-19.

“We appreciate the patience of citizens and employees while we implemented precautions to make sure we are providing a safe environment,” said City Manager Todd Thompson.

Since the stay at home order was enacted, the City has utilized social distancing measures, required the use of face-coverings in City facilities, and increased cleaning and sanitation procedures. Face-coverings will continue to be required upon entering City Hall.

Penalties will not be applied to August utility bills for late payments in order to provide an opportunity for citizens to pay their utility bill at City Hall when it reopens to the public on August 24, 2020.

The Galesburg Fire Department will be holding a Candidate Walk Through for all those interested in testing to become a Galesburg Firefighter. Potential candidates are invited to come to the Galesburg Regional Training Site (2233 Veterans Drive, Galesburg):

August 26th 8:00 am – 10:00 am

August 29th 8:00 am – 10:00 am
