Galesburg School District Utilizing Buses To Provide Free Internet for Remote Learning

Share

Galesburg School District #205 will be enabling activity buses so students are able to access the internet for free while they are remote learning this fall. Superintendent Dr. John Asplund explains:

“In the gap in terms of internet access, we decided we are going to enable our activity buses with WiFi and park those in some more remote locations of the district on a schedule so people know where they are going to be. People can drive up near them and be able to get internet access for free,” Dr. Asplund says.

Galesburg plans to use an e-learning format for the first five weeks of the 2020-2021 school year and online registration is currently in progress through August 21st. The first day of school will be Tuesday, September 8th.
