Restaurants in Burlington Temporarily Closed Due to COVID

Several restaurants in Burlington, Iowa have temporarily closed their doors after employees have tested positive for COVID-19. According to the Hawk Eye, Sonic Drive-In, La Tavola, Martini’s Grille, and The Drake have closed to minimize the spread of the coronavirus. Jimbo Jennison from The Drake restaurant stated the closures were all voluntary:

“Burlington is a little bit of a hot spot right now. We are doing what we consider the safe and prudent thing, sending our employees home and locking the doors. There are four restaurants in Burlington closed down due to the COVID virus. These are all voluntary closures. These are business owners saying ‘I need to shut down. This is the best thing for my staff and our community.’ That is what we have done. These things are not easy to do, but are necessary to do in these times,” reports Jennison.
