Robert L. “Bob” Bruntmyer, 86, of Galesburg, died on Thursday, August 13, 2020. 3:30 PM, at Aperion Care, Galesburg.

Bob was born on July 22, 1934 in Burlington, Iowa. He was the son of William and Gladys (Jones) Bruntmyer. Bob married Mary McConnell on October 22, 1986 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they celebrated 33 years of marriage. Bob is survived by his wife, Mary at home; daughter, Erin (Jim) Clark of Terra Haute, Indiana; two granddaughters, Devin (Scott) Bodenhamer and Kelsey (Tim Snyder) Frederiksen; and three great-grandchildren, Natalie and Audrey Bodenhamer, and Brady Frederiksen. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and one sister.

Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as a conductor for the BNSF Railway, retiring after 42 years of service. Bob was a member of the Lake Bracken Country Club and the United Transportation Union. He loved to golf and boat on the lake. He was also a tinkerer, and enjoyed fixing things. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family.

Cremation rites have been accorded. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted with Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville. Condolences may be left to the family at www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com.
