Unemployment numbers in the local area continue to raise concerns. Knox County Area Partnership President Ken Springer, reports the results of the June numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics:
“For our two counties, we are clocking in at 11.9 percent unemployment as of June, which is obviously an elevated rate. That translates to about 2,600 unemployed persons living within Knox and Warren counties,” states Springer.
This time last year, the unemployment rate for Knox and Warren counties was between four and five percent.
