Mrs. Charlotte Louise Williamson, 88, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away on September 12, 2020 at Rosewood Adult Foster Care in DeWitt, Michigan.

She was born on December 6, 1931 the daughter of Vernon and Cecilia (Hammer) Brown. Charlotte was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Galesburg where she met and married her husband of 61 years, Arthur John Williamson on June 22, 1952. Arthur predeceased her on July 7, 2013.

Charlotte will remain forever in the hearts of her children Terry (Becky) Williamson of DeWitt, MI and Nancy (Mark) Halverson of Rockford, IL  She will always be Grandma ‘Picky’ to her 3 grandsons Seth (Amy) Williamson, Isaac (Colleen) Williamson and Richard (Kris) Halverson and 4 great-grandchildren – Ayden, Zoe, Grace, and Evangeline.

Charlotte’s legacy is her love for her family, lifelong friends, animals, and sewing. She had the beautiful gift of making others feel accepted, cared about, appreciated, and special. She looked deeply into those in her life that she loved and always put them first.

She practiced as a beautician for nearly 40 years from a salon in the basement of her home allowing her to always be there when her children came home. Charlotte sewed her love into countless outfits for her kids and grandkids and continued to do the same in retirement as she crafted blankets for the children of St. Jude’s Hospital and oversees missions. She spoiled her family each time they gathered with wonderful meals – making it appear deceivingly effortless. She lovingly cared for many lucky stray animals who ultimately became family. Those who knew Charlotte will always remember her unique sense of humor and perspective on life; treasured Charlotte-isms will be woven into family conversations for years to come.
