GPD Assist on 3 Illegal Narcotics Investigations Over Labor Day Weekend

Knox County K9’s were busy over the Labor Day weekend.

Over the holiday weekend, the Knox County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Galesburg Police Department on 3 illegal narcotics investigations. In total the Sheriff’s Department seized methamphetamine, Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD), 12 grams of psilocybin Mushrooms and approximately 28 pounds of cannabis.

On September 5, 2020 Knox County Deputies were assisted by K9 Glock and intercepted a package with approximately 2,930 gram of suspected cannabis. This case is still under investigation.

On September 6, 2020 Knox County Deputies and Galesburg Police were assisted by K9 Glock and located luggage at the AMTRAK station. Further investigation revealed approximately 2 plastic containers (26 hits) of Lysergic ACID Diethylamide (LSD), 1 gram of methamphetamine, 1 bag with approximately 12 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and approximately 125 grams of cannabis. This case is still under investigation.

On September 7, 2020 Knox County Deputies and Galesburg Police were assisted by K9 Juri at the AMTRAK Station. Jabari M. Lynn, 54 years of age, 908 9th LN, Green Acres, FL 33463 was located after a short foot pursuit. Lynn was found to have approximately 5 pounds of cannabis in a back pack on his person and another 16.5 pounds in a suitcase left behind at the AMTRAK station with his name on his luggage. Lynn was charged with Cannabis Trafficking, Manufacturing/Deliver of cannabis and resisting a police officer. Lynn is currently being detained at the Knox County Jail with a bond set at $100,000.00 and a United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hold.

All person’s arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
