Swimming and Diving

The Galesburg Silver Streak girls swim team hosted Rock Island at Mustain Pool on the GHS campus yesterday. Galesburg beat the Rocks 102-83. Getting an individual win for Galesburg was Ari Bailey in the 1 meter diving competition. Getting two wins on the day for the Silver Streaks were Allie Warren in the 50 and 100 butterfly, Kylie Tapper in the 50 and 100 freestyle and Tori Robinson in the 200 and 500 freestyle races. Tapper and Robinson teamed up with Sophie Lotz and Olivia Owen for a 200 freestyle relay.

Cross Country

Sterling beats Galesburg in both the boys and girls division. The Golden Warrior boys beat the Streaks 19-42. Galesburg’s Ben Vazquez, Plamedi Nseka and Alex Buchen all get top-10 finishes for Galesburg, placing 2nd, 7th and 10th, respectively. The Galesburg girls lost 19-40 to Sterling. Briana Admire places 2nd for the Silver Streaks. Kaylee Allen was 8th, Amanda Wilson was 9th and Mia Carlson in 10th were also top finishers for Galesburg.

Junior High

The ICS Trojan junior high baseball team braved the elements to get a 4-1 win over Abingdon-Avon in Avon yesterday. The Trojans pounded out 11 hits in the game. Getting two hits apiece was Nick Huston, Max Ferguson, Elijah Noel and Thomas Missavage. Andrew Way had an rbi double in the top of the 5th for ICS. David Simmons and Clay Casteel combined on a 4-hitter for the Trojans with Simmons getting the win and Casteel getting the save. Simmons records five strikeouts on the mound as well.
