M-R Currently Planning for Return to In-Person Learning

Share

The process of planning for returning to in-person learning for the Monmouth-Roseville school district is currently underway among administrators and the Board of Education. Superintendent Ed Fletcher states several scenarios are up in the air with no timeline attached:

“We started talking through what that would look like at each building, what it could look like, different scenarios, and even on the back side of that, as we think through scenarios, we start thinking through how to pre-certify the kids. How will we get kids on a bus at 7:15 in the morning at the Junior High and High School? What will those procedures be and the requirements of seating charts on the busses? Each teacher, once we get to that point, will have to mock up their room and make sure they have a very firm seating chart. We are going to put together as many plans as we can, different scenarios of the things that we can do when that time comes. We can look at a blended learning/hybrid option. It could be an A day schedule on a Monday and a B day on a Tuesday, remote learning day on Wednesday, and then A and B Thursday Friday. If we are looking at six foot social distancing in classrooms, the only way we can do it at Monmouth-Roseville safely is a hybrid schedule,” Fletcher reports.

The Monmouth-Roseville school district currently has 1,467 students enrolled this school year, 89 fewer students than last year.
