MFD Hosted Basic Auto Extrication Class During Monthly Training Session

The Monmouth Fire Department held a Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) Division meeting to discuss various issues. Director of Information Technology Ken Helms reports that nine area fire departments were in attendance:

“Any departments that are a member of this have mutual aid agreements with each other. For instance, some of the rural departments might have more water tankers, stuff like that, than are within the city so they might come for assistance if there are things like that or man power assistance, or specialized tools needed. Just various different things like that. This whole region, everyone is a member of that and use that for their mutual aid,” Helms says.

In addition to the departments’ monthly training, Captain Peeler made arrangements with the Illinois Fire Service Institute to host a Basic Auto Extrication class in Monmouth.
