Annually the third week in September is designated as Farm Safety and Health Week to acknowledge, celebrate, and uplift America’s farmers and ranchers and their families. Country Financial Agent Tiffany Cole shares tips to ensure a safe harvest season:
“There are a number of resources out there and different videos to watch to be reminders, but just things that often times people don’t think about and safety on the farm with equipment that is used and the PTO’s, ATV’s, augers, the chemicals that are used, and all that. One that I know a lot of people don’t think about is fatigue. The hours put in when the weather is good and you can roll, they go. Then on our end of things and being aware and watching for them on the roadways and slowing down, getting over, and things like that, especially on our rural roads,” Cole states.
The theme for the 2020 National Farm Safety and Health week is “Every Farmer Counts”.
