Scott David (Scooter) Gravitt passed into the loving arms of his Lord on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. He was born on August 5, 1966, the son of Sam and Gloria Gravitt.
Scott grew up in Altona and attended ROWVA School District. He served in the US Air Force from 1984-1998 fighting in the Desert Storm/Shield campaign. He worked for Gulf Stream Aerospace from 1999-2004 in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania as a contract sheet metal worker. He was extremely talented at sheet metal work and any type of mechanics as well as carpentry.
Scott is survived by his parents, Sam (Lynda) Gravitt and Gloria Gravitt. His children, Emma Hallberg and Dakota (Kari) Gravitt; one sister, Lisa (Chuck) Unger; one brother, Mike (Deb) Gravitt; 4 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His beloved dogs, Sarah and Snoopy.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and one granddaughter, Isabella Lola Fitzwater.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Altona, Illinois at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2020 with the Rev. Dan Wright officiating. Military Rights will be accorded by the Galva American Legion Post #45. All family and friends are invited to attend. Interment of his ashes will be at a later time in the Rock Island National Cemetery on Rock Island Arsenal. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
