According to the New York Giants’ official website, giants.com, former Monmouth College quarterback Alex Tanney did not survive the final round of cuts for the roster of the 2020 New York Giants. Tanney, 32, was one of 28 players let go on Saturday by new Giants head coach Joe Judge. Judge chose to keep starter Daniel Jones and veteran Colt McCoy on the active roster. Also cut by the Giants on Saturday was another quarterback in Cooper Rush. Rush was signed the practice squad on Sunday. Rush is familiar with new Giant’s offensive coordinator and former Dallas Cowboy head coach, Jason Garrett. Tanney spent eight years bouncing around the NFL, including stops in Kansas City, Dallas, Cleveland, Tampa Bay, Tennessee, Buffalo and Indianapolis.
