Terrence Quentin Snider, age 86, died on September 9, 2020 at his home in The Hills, Texas.

Terry was born on June 8, 1934 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and spent his formative years in Knoxville/Galesburg, Illinois, graduating from Knox College in 1956 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He served as a U.S. Army officer for two years following college, before going on to a successful career as a sales executive for Washington National, Nationwide, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Johnson & Higgins and America’s Pharmacy.

Terry retired in 1994 and enjoyed a full life with Beth Rand, his partner of over 30 years. The couple moved from Southern California to Texas in 2008 where they attended The Lakeway Church and enjoyed many other community activities.

Terry was a man of many talents and enjoyed traveling, piloting airplanes, driving high performance cars, hiking, skiing, horseback riding and working out at the gym. His humor, wisdom and storytelling skills were legendary and he was loved dearly by family, friends and co-workers.

In addition to Beth, he is survived by his brother, Michael Snider; son Tracy Snider and his wife Maribel; son Todd Snider and his wife Sandy; along with five grandchildren Nicole Speer and husband Matt, Caitlin Snider, Trevor Snider, Grant Snider and Robby Snider.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 3 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2020 at the Biggsville Cemetery in Biggsville, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Restoration Ranch a 501c(3) equine welfare and veteran service organization founded by Terry’s partner Beth Rand (restorationranch.org) or to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is handling local arrangements for the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
