Under guidelines throughout the pandemic and maintaining social distancing, Relay for Life and St. Jude’s have been unable to hold several of their fundraising events in continuing the fight against cancer. On Friday, October 9th, the Warren-Henderson Relay for Life and St. Jude’s will be partnering for the Dial up a Cure radiothon on WMOI and WRAM. Warren-Henderson Relay for Life Senior Community Manager Stacey Dutton has more:
“Cancer doesn’t stop and neither can we. Of course, COVID is not going to stop cancer, but it has unfortunately stopped funding of our cancer research, stopped patients from getting their screenings, and just their regular treatments depending on each individual situation. A lot of people are hurting and it is affecting cancer, but cancer is still out there. We will be partnering with St. Jude. Both of our organizations are hurting, as many others are as well, with COVID and the many changes that we have all experienced this year. We are looking to raise funds, raise awareness. There are many ways that our organizations already work together,” Dutton shares.
All funds raised from the radiothon will remain local and benefit the Warren-Henderson Relay for Life and St. Jude’s.
