YMCA and Thomas Family Join Forces for Running for Dreams, Riley Strong 5K and Color Dash

Due to COVID-19, the YMCA’s Dancing for Dreams and the Riley Strong 5K were cancelled this year. YMCA Fitness and Wellness Director Staci Bass shares they are joining forces to put on the Running for Dreams, Riley Strong 5K and Color Dash:

“As we were researching some ideas of what we could do to maybe offset that loss and create some revenue for our membership program, we thought a 5K would be a good opportunity because it is an outside event, a lot safer than an indoor right now. Doing a little bit more research we realized that the Thomas family were not able to have their 5K Color Run in August, so we decided to join forces and we are going to celebrate both events, raise money for both the scholarship program at the YMCA and for St. Jude’s for in honor of Riley Thomas,” informs Bass.

The event will be held on Saturday, October 24th. The regular timed 5K will begin at 9 am followed by the Color Dash at 10:30. An option to run virtually is available as well.
