Mr. Alfred “Al” L. Wickline, 92, of Galesburg, Illinois died 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at his home. 

He was born January 24, 1928 in Monmouth, Illinois to Acie A. and Vinia O. (Nichols) Wickline.  He married Dorothy V. Schroeder, October 18, 1952 in Raritan, Illinois.  She preceded him in death May 16, 2013. 

Surviving is one daughter, Cheryl (and Donald) Berg of Comstock Park, Michigan, a son-in-law, Richard Countryman of Prosper, Texas, a daughter-in-law, Sherry Wickline of Galesburg, and six grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Perry Wickline on February 26, 2018, a daughter, Debra Countryman on January 5, 2017, two brothers, Robert Wickline and Donald Wickline and a sister, Vivian Carlson. 

Al graduated from Kirkwood High School, Kirkwood, Illinois in 1946.  He served in the United States Army during Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1952.  He then graduated from Brown’s Business College in Galesburg in 1955.  He was a clothing salesman and buyer for the former Continental Clothing Company in Galesburg for 40 years and retired in 1992.  He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was involved in many church activities.  The family would like to thank the Willard Street neighbors, Bethel Baptist family, physicians and nurses, and many dear friends for the help and care given to Dad.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  Due to guidelines associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and facemasks will be required with limited seating.  Because of COVID-19 pandemic the family has chosen to have a private funeral service which will be Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Bethel Baptist Church.  Rev. Weston Oxley will officiate.  Those wishing to attend the service “virtually” may watch the live broadcast on the funeral home’s Facebook page at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at https://www.facebook.com/Hinchliff-Pearson-West-Funeral-Directors-and-Cremation-Services-160333664037824.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church or Galesburg Rescue Mission.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
