Connie M. Gray, 82 of Galesburg and formerly of Abingdon, passed away at 3:05 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2020 at the Marigold Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Galesburg.

  She was born June 14, 1938 near Hermon, the daughter of Harry L. and Marie G. (Ferris) Way.  She married Harry Gray on October 5, 1957 at the Nazarene Church parsonage in Canton.

  Connie is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Harry; four sons, Keith (and Kristina) Gray of Delong, Kevin Gray of Galesburg, Kent (and Rebecca) Gray of Wataga and Kyle (and Jacque) Gray of Canyon Country, California; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Willodean Bhear of Toulon.

  She graduated from Valley High School.  She worked as a cook at the former Pantry Restaurant in Abingdon for several years.  Connie and Harry later owned and operated Gray’s Sandwich Shop in Galesburg from June 1984 until they retired in December of 2009.  She was of the Christian faith.  She collected dolls and Beanie Babies.  She enjoyed camping and spending time with her family.  She also wintered in Florida and California.

  Private services will be held at Haynes Cemetery near Delong.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Harry Gray, 1217 W. North St., Galesburg, IL 61401.Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
